This publication expands and updates the 1989 Sirois publication Bibliography of Studies in Comparative Canadian Literature / Bibliographie d'études de littérature canadienne comparée, 1930-1987 and includes supplements first published in the Canadian Review of Comparative Literature/Revue canadienne de littérature comparée. The new bibliography adds a significant area of comparison: Canadian and Québécois literatures with foreign literatures.
This bibliography is presented under 13 headings and various sub-headings to facilitate consultation. As well, it includes an Index of Scholars, an Index of Authors under Study, and an Index of Geographical Regions.
The bibliography was prepared under the direction of Antoine Sirois. Co-investigators include Pamela Grant, David M. Hayne, Gregory J. Reid, Winfried Siemerling and Maria van Sundert, with technical assistance provided by John Taylor-Johnston, translation by Patricia Godbout, and the research work of numerous graduate students in the M.A. and Ph.D. programmes in Comparative Canadian Literature at the Université de Sherbrooke.
The publication of this bibliography was made possible by a grant from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.
